Job Description

Leads a large Youth Program (Main Center, Annex, Teen Center), ensuring compliance and accreditation. Oversees comprehensive youth development: school-age care, sports, STEM, arts, career development. Supervises staff, manages budgets/procurement, ensures facility safety. Liaises with organizations, promotes partnerships, advocates for youth needs, and prepares reports. This position is Limited Term, Not To Exceed 15 JUNE 2027

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifications: (1)A 4-year degree in Youth Development or a related field such as Elementary Education, Special Education, Family and Consumer Science (Early Childhoodemphasis) AND 3 years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth. OR (2)A combination of education (at least 24 semester hours) and experience, or additional course work, that that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above AND 3 years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth. (3)Knowledge of youth education principles, concepts, and techniques to develop, interpret, monitor, and evaluate the execution of curriculum and age-appropriate activities. (4)Knowledge of adult learning techniques and strategies and experience training adult learners. (5)Ability to support DoD certification, accreditation, and staff credentialing Military School-Age Credential (MSA), Associate of Arts (AA) Degree by ensuring that required training is administered and successfully accomplished to meet statutory and program requirements. Must have the ability to supervise and provide guidance and leadership to employees and providers. Ability to identify and respond to emergency situations including evacuations, child illness, and physical and emotional disorders. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills Condition(s) of Employment: Satisfactory completion and favorable adjudication of installation records checks, and state and national criminal background checks may be required for positions that provide lessons or instruction to children. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.
