**Qualifications:**
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-04/24/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-7). Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing budget formulation, justification, and execution functions in support of organizational programs and operations. This experience involves applying knowledge of federal budget principles, laws, regulations, and policies to develop, analyze, and monitor budgets; preparing budget estimates and financial plans; tracking expenditures to ensure compliance with funding limitations; identifying trends and variances; recommending corrective actions to management; analyzing financial data to support resource allocation decisions; preparing reports, spreadsheets, and briefing materials; advising program managers on budgetary matters; ensuring adherence to fiscal controls and procedures; and supporting audits or reviews by providing required documentation and analysis. You must include hours per week worked on your resume. -OR- EDUCATION: Have completed two full years of graduate level study leading to a master's or equivalent degree that is directly related to this position and has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. The coursework must be directly related to the position to qualify. Related academic fields include business administration, economics, accounting, governmental budgeting, and public administration. You must include transcripts if qualifying with education. -OR- COMBINATION of education and experience as described above. Only graduate education in excess of the first year (18 semester hours) is creditable when combining. For example, I have six months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), and 27 semester hours of graduate education leading to a graduate degree in a directly related field of study (50% of the education requirement). You must include transcripts. You must include hours per week worked. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
