Police Officer (Desk Sergeant)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for the public to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will serve as a Police Officer (Desk Sergeant), providing technical guidance and/or direction to personnel. Primary duties will include screening calls and relaying messages to patrol officers, fire department, and/or emergency medical services team.

**Qualifications:**
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level to which you are applying: Specialized Experience: Must have at least one full-time year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (or comparable level of experience from outside the Federal service) performing ALL of the following duties: 1) Evaluating crime prevention programs to recommend changes to reduce opportunities for theft, assault, illegal entry, or other kinds of violations; 2) Reporting information to emergency services concerning serious situation to dispatch support personnel based on specific incidents; 3) Perform law enforcement duties based upon knowledge of laws, statutes, and procedures to maintain order and protect life and property.
