Job Description

This position is a Management and Program Analyst (Fire Business), GS-0343-7/9 working in the following location(s): Battle Mountain, Nevada Carson City, Nevada Elko, Nevada Winnemucca, Nevada In order to be considered for any duty location, ensure desired locations are selected. **Qualifications:**
In order to qualify for this position, you must possess the Minimum Qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience Requirements: In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement(s); please be sure to include this information in your resume. No assumptions will be made about your experience. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled. To qualify for the GS-07 grade level, 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 is required. Examples of work experience include, but are not limited to: Performing administrative support duties such as: gathering and reviewing statistical and program data; working with higher graded analysts to ensure information gathered is complete and accurate; assist in reviewing productivity improvement; and using automated systems and databases to accomplish work activities. To qualify for the GS-09 grade level, 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 is required. Examples of work experience include, but are not limited to: Performing administrative support duties such as: gathering and reviewing statistical and program data; providing guidance on administrative policies and procedures; and using automated systems and databases to accomplish work activities, manipulate data and produce reports. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of Education for Experience: For the GS-07: 1 full year (16 semester hours) of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement; OR an equivalent combination of specialized experience and education. For the GS-09: a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years (32 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which is DIRECTLY related to work of the position OR an LL.B. or J.D; OR an equivalent combination of specialized experience and education. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements by 04/27/2026. Eligibility and Qualification Requirements: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the Job Announcement. Specifically, i. Area of Consideration. ii. Time-in-grade (TIG) requirements as specified in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. iii. Time after competitive appointment as specified in 5 CFR 330.502.iv. Qualification requirements outlined in OPM's Qualifications Standards for General Schedule Positions.
