ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (Title 32)

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION Position to be filled upon the vacancy of the incumbent. DUTY LOCATION: Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG), Groton, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard.

**Qualifications:**
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 24 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience demonstrating the ability and skill to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, align, modify, calibrate and certify the test stations, and their peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. Experience using the stations to test, troubleshoot, modify, align, repair, maintain, and certify integrated avionics systems and major components of these systems. Experience analyzing performance, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, identifying and isolating malfunctions, disassembles, modifies or repairs, reassembles, and aligns the test stations and their associated peripherals. Experience with complex interrelated variables that arise from a mix of computer hardware and software; and, special purpose test subsystems. Experience analyzing malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, programming tables, computer program flow charts, software user guides, computer program listings and factory drawings. Experience diagnosing circuit operating characteristics using computer query, system peculiar test equipment, and computer diagnostics. Experience in isolating problems to the failing component or part of a component by using self-test diagnostics, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, signal generators, digital, and differential voltmeters, computer registers and printouts, other special and standard tools and test equipment. Experience removing and replacing components or assemblies down to the smallest bit, piece, or module authorized, using special and common hand tools, soldering devices and special electronic instruments. Experience modifying and updating support equipment and software according to applicable technical publications. Experience demonstrating the ability to analyze program data and determine if the criteria is sufficient to provide adequate testing and troubleshooting. Experience in identifying recurring malfunctions and software deficiencies and determining testing voids and initiating corrective actions by writing and submitting quality deficiency reports, software deficiency reports, or proposed modifications. Experience demonstrating repair procedures based on findings and recommends program changes, procedural changes, or data corrections to correct software deficiencies. Experience testing equipment to interface the test station system to the aircraft system to facilitate maintenance/repair of line replaceable units (LRU) from the avionics systems including radar, fire control, instrument, flight control, inertial navigation, malfunction analysis and recording equipment systems. Experience determining whether failures are caused by the unit under test (UUT), the test station, or the test program. Experience identifying malfunctions in the UUT or the test station. Experience demonstrating competence to isolate specific component(s); disassemble and repair these components by replacing solid state devices, micro-miniature modules, gyros, sensors, transducers, and any other required parts. Experience assembling components, after repairs are accomplished and able to perform operational tests. Experience as a flight crew member for the purpose of diagnosing and recording malfunctions, or otherwise determining maintenance and repair requirements. Experience providing instructional training to other mechanics in regard to the repair of computer controlled automatic test equipment, line replaceable units and aircraft integrated systems. Experience participating in various types of readiness evaluations such as, Operational Readiness Evaluations (ORE), Command Logistics Readiness Inspections (CLRT-X), and Aviation Resource Management Surveys. Experience performing additional duties such as, structural firefighting, aircraft handling, heavy equipment operation, and maintenance of facilities and equipment, or served as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Experience in safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Skill in duties such as, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes. Ability to format and write English in reports and presentation formats. Skill in presenting formal training presentations and briefings. Skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material. Skill in training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training. MILITARY GRADE (Prior to Appointment): Warrant: WO1 through CW2; Enlisted: E-5 through E-8 UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT: Any aviation unit within state SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is covered by the medical monitoring program. Individual selected must undergo a preemployment physical examination prior to appointment. This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) is a mandatory condition of employment, subject to availability of resources. NGB prescribed courses at NGPEC must be completed within 6 months of assignment to this position. Failure to complete course(s) may result in reassignment or termination of full-time employment unless extenuating circumstances preclude course attendance.
