Job Description
This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Information Governance and Compliance (CGI), Compliance and Governance (CG), Compliance, Audit and Risk Management (C). A successful candidate in the Government Information Specialist position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting governance and compliance projects and initiatives to improve the functions and activities of the Information Governance, Privacy and Information Collection programs.
**Qualifications:**
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-09: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-07, in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) responding to and triaging routine inquiries and requests for privacy and information collection; 2) assisting in the design and publication of official information collection forms; and 3) researching changes to applicable privacy and information collection statutes or regulations for their potential impact on privacy and information collection programs. You may substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-09 level as follows: Two (2) full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education in any field of study from an accredited college or university OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university OR LL.B or J.D., if related. GS-11: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-09, in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) serving as the primary point of contact for privacy and information collection program group mailboxes, responding to complex inquiries and requests; 2) ensuring compliance with information collection requirements by reviewing and evaluating requests for forms, designing and publishing official forms, and supporting the information collection clearance process; and 3) updating privacy and information collection policies or procedures in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations. You may substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-11 level as follows: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.M. degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position. OR A combination of education and specialized experience that totals 100% of the requirement listed above. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
