About the Position:Serves as the Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention for the Fire and Emergency Services Division. Supervises overall fire prevention program with specific fire prevention responsibilities for the installation. Supervises subordinate fire inspectors providing daily direction, oversight, and evaluation of work performed. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: developing training of fire prevention and protection methods and tools; performing troubleshooting and evaluation of life safety systems; and inspecting structure for compliance with fire, electrical and life safety codes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). DOD FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To occupy this position, at the time of appointment the incumbent must possess and then continue to maintain the following DoD Firefighter Certification levels: Fire Officer III Fire Inspector III Fire Instructor II HAZMAT Incident Commander Airport Firefighter You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
