Job Description
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the DEEP SUBMERGENCE SYSTEMS PROGRAM, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
**Qualifications:**
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronics, or structural concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties associated with all Deep Submergence Systems Programs. Experience assigning and planning work for subordinates taking into consideration priorities, work completion schedules, the work difficulty, employees' capabilities, grade level, and overall sum of assignments. Experience working with multiple DSSP projects, developing the knowledge to formulate solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems. Experience applying knowledge relating to academic fields such as metallurgy, electrical, mechanical, structural and welding engineering, non destructive testing and certification/safety/ SUBSAFE/Scope of Certification requirements. Experience performing supervisory duties to include making official performance ratings of personnel, giving advice and counseling to subordinates on both work and administrative matters, recruiting, selecting and promoting subordinates.
