Job Description
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAVAL SUBMARINE BASE NEW LONDON.
**Qualifications:**
Current Permanent Employees within the UICs must meet specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and monitoring a fire training program to ensure employees are trained in areas of structural firefighting, emergency medical service response, fire inspection techniques or equipment operation; 2) Planning and scheduling training for fire protection functional areas; 3) Providing input into the development of budget and ensuring reports and records are maintained; and 4) Serving as Senior Fire Officer at actual firefighting and rescue operations. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. For outside applicants claiming VEOA (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service) must meet specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Developing or monitoring a fire training program to ensure employees are trained in areas of structural firefighting, emergency medical service response, fire inspection techniques or equipment operation; 2) Planning and scheduling training for fire protection functional areas; 3) Providing input into the development of budget and ensuring reports and records are maintained; and 4) Serving as Senior Fire Officer at actual firefighting and rescue operations. In addition, this position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I/II; Driver Operator Pumper; HazMat Awareness ; HazMat Operations; HazMat Incident Commander (IC); Fire Officer I/II ; Fire Inspector I; Fire Instructor I/II; These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Proboard to meet the requirements. Also, State EMT or NREMT is required. Failure to provide will result in no further consideration.
