Job Description
This position is in the Training Division (TD) within the Defender Services Office (DSO). The DSO administers the federal defender services program, ensuring the right to counsel guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment, the Criminal Justice Act, and other statutory mandates for individuals unable to afford legal representation. DSO provides leadership, direction, administration, management, oversight, and support for the federally appointed counsel system.
**Qualifications:**
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience must demonstrate ALL areas defined below: Supervising staff by providing oversight, guidance, assistance, and support. Leading a wide variety of in-person and virtual training initiatives. Developing short- and long-term workplans for training programs and managing workplan timelines. Establishing priorities and identifying solutions to meet program objectives.
