SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY

You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Branch Head within NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. **Qualifications:**
This position has a Selective Placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. This position requires experience in the design, development, fabrication, testing, deployment, procurement, management, and on-orbit operation of spacecraft and/or hypersonic vehicle systems. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NP-03 pay band or GS-11/13 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1. Leading a large staff of personnel, to elicit their support and cooperation, evaluate their performance, and satisfy EEO requirements; 2. Exercising financial management of a complex, R&D organization and its associated projects; 3. Identifying and engaging new customers, partnerships, and proposals to generate new business; 4. Conducting spacecraft and hypersonic air platform design, analysis and test work; 5. Practical knowledge of engineering disciplines such as thermal analysis, aerodynamic analysis, structural design, and applied mathematics; 6. Conducting basic and applied research in space systems, hypersonic systems, advanced thermal control systems, and novel test methods; and 7. Effectively communicating orally and in writing at senior levels in the federal government and private industry.
