Job Description

You will serve as a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator Supervisor, responsible for independently supervising other trades workers in performing a wide range of operations, monitoring, maintenance, and repair services for NIH utilities systems. You will monitor and inspection utilities systems on both a routine and emergency basis, which will require the use of multiple trade practices associated with the operation and repair of utilities systems and equipment.

**Qualifications:**
You will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Job Elements for this position include: 1. Ability to Lead or Supervise. 2. Knowledge of Equipment, Assembly, Installation, Repair. etc. 3. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic). 4. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (including blueprint reading). 5. Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment. 6. Ability to compile and prepare data, documents and reports on Utility Systems repairs, maintenance and operations.
