Job Description

This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for: Serving as a senior analyst and advisor for policy and interagency affairs, and will report to the Director, Interagency Coordination and Policy Division.

**Qualifications:**
You may qualify at the NH04 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 3 of the 5 specialized experience listed below to be qualified: Experience with U.S. national security and missile defense policies and strategies, and missile defense programs. Ability to interpret the above in order to inform MDA functional and program efforts. Performing analyses and studies by using critical thinking; identifying issues; conducting research; developing courses of action; evaluating results. Ability to develop recommendations on complex and sensitive missile defense strategy and international affairs issues. Work with the Congressional budget cycle and the legislative process. Skilled in supporting the development of briefings and responses to satisfy Congressional inquiries. Experience in the functions of the Executive Branch's interagency environment, the Office of the Secretary of War, the regional combatant commanders, the Joint Staff, and the military departments. Familiarity with their respective roles in strategy formulation and execution. Experience in U.S. foreign policymaking and national security policy- and strategy-making environment and coordination process. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
