Job Description
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that includes: 1) Planning, coordinating, and evaluating Fire and Emergency Services programs.2) Administering budgets and providing financial management for emergency services. 3) Analyzing fire loss trends to recommend improvements, managing hazardous materials incidents, and overseeing employee and labor relations. 4. Developing and implementing comprehensive fire protection and prevention training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard Firefighter Certifications: Fire Officer IV, Instructor II, Inspector II, Hazardous Material Operations and Incident Commander. certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M. Must maintain a valid State EMT-B certification.
