Job Description
You will serve as an INTERDISICPLINARY ENGINEER (Propulsion Integration Flow Modeling Lead) in the PROPULSION AND POWER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, MODELING & ANALYSIS DIVISION, AND COMPUTATIONAL FLUID AND DYNAMICS & NOISE BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The incumbent will serve as Team Leader for Propulsion and Power CFD modeling efforts, CFD tools application to Propulsion & Power design efforts and is responsible for the technical development, training, and mentoring of CFD SME personnel.
**Qualifications:**
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band (DP-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical oversight of aircraft power and propulsion systems and associated equipment using professional engineering principles; 2) Establishing and managing project objectives (including cost, schedule, and performance) for the engineering development of current and future systems; 3) Leading and guiding integrated project teams through propulsion integration and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses to evaluate risks and direct redesign efforts [propulsion integration includes, but is not limited to inlet, nozzle, and airframe interaction with the propulsion system]; and 4) Informing and supporting design decisions using physics-based modeling of aviation systems.
