Job Description
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Executive Support Staff, (Code 1100) for the Security and Fire Office, (Code 1120) in the Fire and Life Safety Branch, (Code 1128) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
**Qualifications:**
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience overseeing the development, coordination, implementation and management of the fire protection, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response and fire prevention programs, identifies deficiencies and recommends improvements. Experience serving as technical advisor to management on all matters pertaining to mission specific requirements and ongoing activity work. Experience providing technical assistance and advice to incident commanders and responding emergency service providers to ensure that standards are met during actual emergency responses. Experience providing guidance and liaison for all mutual-aid municipal off-station fire and emergency service issues affecting and impacting Shipyard personnel and/or operations. Experience liaising with other NAVSEA NNPP sites for the purpose of identifying and communicating fire and emergency service issues of common interest. Experience monitoring the accomplishment of fire prevention inspections of all structures and ships in the shipyard as performed by the regional service providers and/or ship forces.
