Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the FLEET RECAPITALIZATION DIVISION (N74) of the ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

**Qualifications:**
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing ship's equipment and systems operation necessary to review and evaluate completed work and projects of marine engineers and surveyors. Experience utilizing USCG and ABS rules and regulations affecting the design, operation and maintenance of ships and their equipment and systems. Experience of commercial shipyard production procedures including progression, planning, construction techniques, and procedures related to government contracts and the ability to apply new developments to problems not readily treatable by accepted methods. Experience ensuring ship owner requirements and standards are being adhered to, particularly in areas of operability, reliability, habitability, maintainability, life cycle cost effectiveness, safety and compliance with regulatory bodies. Experience identifying and providing formal recommendations to the Project Manager for resolving new ship design, construction, logistics, and life cycle issues. Experience providing coordination and oversight of design development processes including: technical review of drawings, calculations, vendor plans, and technical manuals.
