PRODUCTION SHOP ASSISTANT

You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP ASSISTANT in the MECHANICAL SHOP OF THE PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

**Qualifications:**
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience assisting with inspecting ship work to ensure work is planned and performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with prescribed procedures. Experience monitoring project cost performance and conducting quality assurance trend analysis of all non-nuclear shop processes to reduce cost and radiation exposure. Experience investigating shop practices by identifying deficiencies and taking appropriate action. Experience assisting with developing plans, policies and procedures related to nuclear submarine overhaul and repair. Experience in management principles and theories to manage or supervise administrative work.
