About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center on Holloman AFB, NM. Incumbent will work primarily 0800-1700 Tuesday through Saturday but could be required to work an occasional night or weekend. Requires frequent standing, stooping, bending, and arm movement. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 45 pounds. This is a Regular Full Time (RPT) position with benefits.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of wood crafting methods and techniques to make and repair a variety of wooden items with unique and intricate shapes and designs. Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of a wide variety of hardwoods, softwoods, plywoods, veneers, wood substitutes, gluing and bonding agents and other woodworking materials. Ability to compute and ensure consistency of dimensions on interlocking parts. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices and procedures; ability to prepare operating budget, control and account for funds, prepare supply requisitions and maintain stock and equipment levels. Knowledge of set up, operation and maintenance of precision wood crafting machines and woodworking hand and power tools. Skill in interpreting complex instructions, sketches, blueprints and specifications to make jigs, templates and fixtures to extend and/or adapt machines. Ability to instruct and assist wood shop patrons. Must be able to follow written and/or oral instruction Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
