Job Description
VA North Texas Health Care System is actively recruiting for an Associate Chief of Staff for Ambulatory Care who will be responsible of the overall operation of Primary Care (including Women's Health and Tele-Health), Employee Occupational Health, Blind/Low Vision, and Compensation & Pension Unit. **Qualifications:**
Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Podiatrist Basic Requirements Education: Degree as a doctor of podiatric medicine, or its equivalent, from a school of podiatric medicine approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Approved schools are United States schools of podiatric medicine approved by the Council on Podiatry Education of the American Podiatry Association in the year in which the degree was granted. ~AND~ Residency: Completed, or currently completing, residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. VA Podiatrists involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status. Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or (2) Other residencies and training experiences, or their equivalents, which the local Professional Standards Board determines to have provided an applicant with appropriate professional training. ~AND~ License: Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice Podiatry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia. Additional Requirement: Board Certification, preferably in Family Practice or Internal Medicine; however, other specialties are acceptable. Preferred Experience: Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementation of primary care delivery systems, optimizing patient care, and improving health outcomes. Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving organizational excellence. Expertise in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety protocols, and the integration of evidence-based practices to enhance the delivery of primary care services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, and external stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of VA policies, regulations, and systems, or equivalent experience in a comparable healthcare setting, to effectively navigate and lead within the VA framework. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and a vision for advancing primary care services in alignment with the mission of the VA North Texas Health Care System.
