Job Description
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year-round including surfing, fishing, and hiking.

Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Mason ~ without more than normal supervision. I possess good skill, knowledge and experience in performing most phases and techniques of the masonry trade. I have good skill and experience in constructing, demolishing and repairing interior and exterior surfaces and structures such as curbs, sidewalks, walkways, stairs, walls, floors, retaining walls, built of a variety of types of materials including but not limited to brick, block, stone, tile, cement, etc. I can lay and align bricks, blocks, or tiles to build or repair structures; use trowel, floats, edger's, to level, spread, and shape mortar or concrete; I can distinguish between the various types of mortars. - - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Is frequently required to perform heavy lifting up to 90 pounds and carrying bricks, block, stone, mortar, cement, and sand. Continually required to stand while working and frequently climbs ladders and scaffolds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Is exposed to a variety of weather conditions while working outdoors. Subject to danger of falling when working from ladders and scaffolds and is exposed to dust and dirt while mixing mortar and while handling various masonry materials.
