**Qualifications:**
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Undergraduate and Graduate Education Major study -- public health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled. OR Specialized Experience Experience that provides: Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities. Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings. Knowledge of a specialized public health program. Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions. Skill in oral and written communications, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials. Additional Qualification Requirements: In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirements, candidates must also meet the below minimum qualifications: Minimum Qualifications GS-09: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Collecting public health data from surveys, studies, or surveillance systems according to established protocols. Analyzing collected data using standard methods to identify basic trends or discrepancies. Implementing assigned components of public health programs in accordance with established plans. Monitoring program activities and documenting compliance with applicable policies or legislative requirements. OR B. Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in Public Health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled or LL.B. or J.D., if related. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. OR C. Have a combination of experience as described in "A" above and education as described in "B" above. Minimum Qualifications GS-11: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Analyzing public health data from surveys, studies, or surveillance systems to identify trends and inform program decisions. Evaluating program operations to determine compliance with policies or legislative requirements. Administering public health program activities to achieve defined objectives. Assessing program outcomes and recommending improvements based on analysis findings. OR B. Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in Public Health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled or LL.M., if related. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement OR C.
