EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

About the Position: This Biomedical Equipment Technician position is located in the Materiel Management Department, Biomedical Engineering Division of the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Portsmouth, Portsmouth (NMRTC Portsmouth), VA. The purpose of this position is to evaluate, develop, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment used at NMCP in the treatment of patients, diagnosis of pathological conditions, and in biomedical research.

I have one year of specialized experience which includes planning and implementing biomedical equipment and logistical policies and guidelines; troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment systems and devices; participating in executive planning sessions which involve implementation and execution of programs and special projects; providing in service training, presentation, and orientation on new equipment. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
