The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is March to October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. **Qualifications:**
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of equipment, assembly, installation, repair, etc. Technical Practices. Competency Use of Measuring Instruments. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment SCREEN OUT: Performs a full range of journeyman-level utility systems repair and operation duties with moderate independence, receiving general supervision from a higher-grade operator or supervisor. The employee applies established methods and procedures to operate, maintain, and repair water and wastewater utility systems, resolving routine to moderately complex problems. Duties include performing maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment associated with water and wastewater treatement, distribution, collection and lift station operations. Conducts preventive maintenance, routine troubleshooting, and corrective repairs using standard diagnostoic equiment, hand tools, and power tools. Operates and monitors water storage, distribution, and wastewater systems to ensure porper functioning and compliance with established operating parameters. Observes system conditions, readings, and alarms to identify irregularities and reports or corrects issues as appropriate. Applies working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, system operations, safety practices, materials, repair parts, and applicable codes and regilations. Uses technical manuals, SOPs, drawings, and maps to comlete assignements. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
