This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
**Qualifications:**
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Work in the explosives safety field to include explosives testing, explosives recovery operations, explosives hazard classification, explosive munitions storage, explosive ordnance inventory, handling, transportation, and disposition. Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, safety protocols, and compliance programs, and administer direct safety oversight of work, site operations including chemical hazard zones, and environmental conditions involving substantial numbers of personnel. Knowledge and skill in the use of standard industry personnel protective equipment to operate 4 and 5 gas monitors in hazardous atmospheres and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Work in the explosives safety field to include explosives testing, explosives recovery operations, explosives hazard classification, explosive munitions storage, explosive ordnance inventory, handling, transportation, and disposition. Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health (OSH) standards, safety protocols, and compliance programs, and administer direct safety oversight of work, site operations including chemical hazard zones, and environmental conditions involving substantial numbers of personnel. Knowledge and skill in the use of standard industry personnel protective equipment to operate 4 and 5 gas monitors in hazardous atmospheres and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). Review and develop health and safety plans, programs, and policies directly affecting multi-million-dollar explosive testing programs and test bed designs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must include your graduation certificate from Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) *NOTE: Failure to provide graduation certificate will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.
