CONTRACT SPECIALIST

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be serving as Contracting Officer with unlimited signatory authority for a significant system or program. The programs require a diverse type of contract support, distinguished by all contract types, the aggregate value of which is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

**Qualifications:**
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Manages the entire life cycle of diverse procurement instruments, including developing alternatives, executing orders, and overseeing all aspects of contract administration from inception to final closeout. Applies regulatory, statutory and policy requirements to the full procurement process, including conducting market research, acquisition planning, cost/price analysis, solicitation, source selection, negotiation, and award of contracts. Applies the knowledge of contracting methods, contract types, negotiation techniques, and post-award administration, while providing oversight, consultation to management, and development of local procurement policies. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1102, series as listed below: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. NOTE: The education requirements listed above apply only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement. *NOTE: Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.
