Supervisory Medical Technician

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Medical Technician in a Military Entrance Processing Station, providing program oversight and supervision to Medical Technicians. This will be filled on a permanent basis.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Performing and/or advising on a variety of complex test, procedures and examinations in a clinical laboratory; Maintaining quality assurance and quality control checks of test results; Performing phlebotomy on patients; Delegating tasks and providing technical guidance to medical technicians and/or medical personnel; Performing quality assurance reviews of applicant records and ensuring they include test result. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
