Air Traffic Control Specialist

This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Safety and Technical Training Service Unit, Safety Directorate, Safety Intelligence & Response Group (AJI-1300). This group is responsible for reacting to significant events in the National Airspace System (NAS) by disseminating timely, accurate, and unbiased information about the events.

**Qualifications:**
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J/GS-14 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.14, FG/GS-J SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: - Experience separating and controlling air traffic in a terminal or en route air traffic facility to conduct the initial investigation of complex aircraft accidents, near mid-air collision reports, major service disruptions, and incidents which receive significant media interest. - Experience preparing analytical reports concerning aviation incidents or events to compile and report results of investigations to senior ATO leadership. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To meet the minimum requirements for this position, applicants must possess: Experience in a military or civilian air traffic facility that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the level of work of the specialization for which application is made.
