SUPERVISORY MUSEUM CURATOR (DEPUTY DIRECTOR)

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MUSUEM CURATOR (DEPUTY DIRECTOR) in the NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND, HAMPTON ROADS NAVAL MUSEUM of HAMPTON ROADS NAVAL MUSEUM.

**Qualifications:**
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using electronic databases for artifact management; 2) Performing technical research to provide historically accurate responses to inquiries; 3) Identifying artifacts and writing storylines based on scholarly research; 4) Locating sources of artifacts, recommending acquisition items for purchase, and negotiating the donation, purchase or loan of appropriate objects for a museum; 5) Delivering lectures and formal presentations and giving formal tours to individuals , students, groups and organizations. 6) Developing short and long-term plans, managing museum programs, and supervising subordinate staff members in the implementation of plans and programs.
