Job Description
The Grants Management Specialist is responsible for the awarding and administering of well-defined grants/cooperative agreements and other assistance awards, and applying financial, administrative, business and negotiation procedures, and established policies and processes in the evaluation and execution of such types of awards.
**Qualifications:**
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-09: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level. Examples of related experience include: understanding grant processes, business practices, and acquisition regulations; preparing, reviewing, processing, and analyzing pre-award and post-award grant applications and proposals, preparing, coordinating, reviewing, processing, and analyzing budget proposals and justifications; providing training, technical assistance, advice, and consultation to program offices, awardees, and applicants. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~ A master's degree, equivalent graduate degree, 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D., in a related field. One year of full-time graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. Transcripts required. ~OR~ An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience must be detailed in your resume and transcripts required. ~AND~ This position includes a Selective Placement Factor (skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to - and essential for - satisfactory performance of the job). Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for a position. Applicants who do not meet it are ineligible for further consideration. The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: experience preparing, processing, and overseeing the grant applications and proposals process for a research program in a government or academic institution.
