Job Description
You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
**Qualifications:**
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience operating all Laser Measurement C/1420.3 data collection devices including Leica and FARO laser trackers, FARO Arms, Leica laser tracker scanners and FARO Arm laser scanners. Experience efficiently utilizing CAM2 and various engineering software platforms. Experience applying the VA and CLB component hydrodynamic analyses packages. Experience working with all NFPC large volume measurement applications including setting up rotors and stators, performing in-process inspections as required, performing final dimensional inspections as required, assembling complex component assemblies, and performing machine tool volumetric checks as required. Experience deciphering sophisticated GD&T tolerancing call-outs and reading and understand detailed blueprints and CAD models. Experience contributing to and generating certification books for any and all propulsor components independently or as part of a team. Experience mentoring and teaching newer employees helping to make them more efficient and knowledgeable.
