Job Description

You will serve as a Safety & Occupational Health Specialist in the Data and Analytics Directorate, Commander, Naval Safety Command (COMNAVSAFECOM) of NAVSAFECOM.

**Qualifications:**
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Applying a basic knowledge of analytical software in addition, having the knowledge, capabilities, and practices associated with the Department of Defense, Federal OSHA, and applicable international health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures used to develop and implement mishap and environmental health prevention practices and measures in shore-based workplaces; 2) Utilizing concepts, principles, theories, and methods to identify, control, mitigate, and eliminate safety hazards or minimize safety risks and work processes; 3) Performing extensive data collection, determining data's importance, and accurately communicating it to the customer; 4) Applying quantitative and qualitative methods, measurement, fact-finding, and investigative techniques to support research and analysis; and 5) Organizing findings into a well-prepared written format for an intended audience. Prior law enforcement, civilian, or military training in motor vehicle accident investigations and data collection, highly desired.
