Job Description
You will serve as a ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH, AND ENVIRONMENT OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
**Qualifications:**
For the GS-11 level your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience assisting with the investigation of environmental conditions, reports on the sources, and cause of problems, and recommends appropriate corrective actions. Experience helping with the inspection dry-docks, industrial work areas, and Hazardous Waste Accumulation areas. Experience participating with engineers in developing, implementing, and documenting changes to Shipyard procedures and practices to effect compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and statutes. Experience preparing reports for various agencies to support the identification of environmental deficiencies or trends. Experience providing interpretation and enforcement of environmental laws. For the GS-09 level your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing environmental initiatives or projects. Experience utilizing established environmental methods. Experience assisting with preparing reports for various agencies to support the identification of environmental deficiencies or trends. Experience helping with providing interpretation and enforcement of environmental laws. Experience practicing compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
