RECREATION ASSISTANT (LEAD LIFEGUARD)

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the OUTDOOR RECREATION CENTER POOLS .

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must possess a valid, nationally recognized lifeguard certification covering lifesaving, water rescue methods, skills, procedures. Possess a valid, nationally recognized basic first aid certification. Must possess a valid nationally recognized CPR/AED certification which includes adult, child and infant procedures. Pre-employment screening required for swim ability, rescue skills, and CPR. Must have experience with cash handling to effectively account for large amounts of cash with little or no errors. Must be able to lift and carry 45 pounds. Must have at least 2 years' experience as a lifeguard. Satisfactory completion of installation records checks, state and national criminal background checks may be required for positions that provide lifesaving duties for children. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Position of trust. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
