Job Description

Ensures that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work products and services. Articulates and communicates to the team the assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Responsible for leading a team of a minimum of three Security Assistant GS-0086-05 positions.

**Qualifications:**
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/11/2026. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the federal service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes: knowledge of security law enforcement objectives and programs; overseeing, leading, and balancing the staffs workload, carrying out support tasks related to law enforcement and security administration; monitoring and responding to physical alarm systems and security cameras; dispatching officers; monitoring computers for video surveillance; and maintaining reports and logs. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Security - Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to securing personnel, facilities, and information, including the requirements for handling, transporting, and protecting classified information and proper reporting of security incidents. Technology Application - Uses machines, tools, or equipment effectively; uses computers and computer applications to analyze and communicate information in the appropriate format. Communications - Effectively expresses information to multiple audiences through clear, convincing oral and written communications; demonstrates logical thinking when describing facts and concepts, and shapes communications to meet the needs of a specific audience; actively listens to others and demonstrates understanding of their comments and/or questions. Manages and Organizes Information - Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods. Computer Skills - Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
