Accounting Technician

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 30 FSS Resource Management Flight. This position will be filled as a Regular Part Time employment category, guaranteed 20.00 hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) accounting experience is preferred; however, if applicants do not have NAF accounting experience, private sector accounting experience is mandatory (double-entry bookkeeping). Must have comprehensive knowledge of double- entry accounting methods, procedures and techniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of accounts in accounting. Must have the ability to prepare computerized or manual financial statements and reports. Knowledge and understanding of the regulations, guides, and precedents sufficient to flow individual funds and specific monies from initiation through expenditure stages in order to trace discrepancies in the system. Must possess the ability to work with automated, computerized accounting program. Must have experience in Microsoft Excel. Position is a position of trust.
