Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Technical Information Specialist in the Engineering and Planning Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

**Qualifications:**
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of naval engineering principles, ship construction, and maintenance processes to interpret and classify technical manuals, engineering drawings, and other shipyard documentation. Experience modifying and adapting standard information practices and automated library information systems, supporting nuclear ship maintenance and modernization projects. Experience resolving a variety of technical information organization challenges, such as integrating diverse engineering drawings, technical manuals, and assessment reports within a shipyard's configuration management system. Experience utilizing a wide range of information management techniques and procedures pertinent to the technical information field, including advanced database software, reference tools and electronic document management tools, in order to store, retrieve, and analyze complex technical data. Experience with technical publication lifecycle management to integrate updated materials and archive superseded documents.
