Job Description
As the Industrial Hygiene Officer (IHO) and Alternate Radiation Protection Officer, you will be responsible for the management of Kennedy Space Center's Industrial Hygiene Program and activities. You will manage a wide range of chemical and physical hazards associated with spacecraft and payload processing and launch operations, and oversee industrial hygiene services.
**Qualifications:**
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Serving as a subject matter expert applying concepts, principles, and practices of industrial hygiene to resolve unusual problems and develop approaches for mitigation; Performing launch/landing, ground processing, and/or payload processing involving chemical or physical hazards such as hypergolic propellants (i.e., spacecraft engine propellant); and Conducting risk assessments and identifying options to reduce residual risk.
