This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for evaluating work performance of subordinates; gives advice, counsel, or instruction to incumbents on both work and administrative matters; identifies developmental and training needs of incumbents, providing or arranging for needed development and training; finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of work directed; and develops performance standards..
**Qualifications:**
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Leading a multi-tiered organization by planning work, setting strategic priorities, and developing performance standards to guide subordinate supervisors and teams toward mission accomplishment. Managing the full spectrum of military and civilian personnel programs, including position management, performance evaluation, staff development, and the resolution of complex grievances and disciplinary issues. Directing the complete resource management lifecycle for an academic directorate, including developing and executing budgets, managing manpower and staffing, and overseeing acquisition and contracting processes. Providing expert policy analysis and strategic advice to senior leadership on complex issues related to DoD workforce development, academic quality assurance, and organizational effectiveness. Representing an organization at the highest levels by building effective relationships with senior DoD and federal officials, assessing stakeholder needs, and resolving significant issues on behalf of leadership. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1701 series. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. *NOTE: Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.
