Job Description
This position will serve as the Director of the National Programs located in the Office of Hazardous Materials Safety. This position will serve as an advisor to the Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Hazardous Materials Safety Field Operations, Associate Administrator for Hazardous Materials Safety, and the Office of Chief Counsel concerning compliance with and enforcement of the Federal hazardous materials transportation law and the Hazardous Materials Regulations.
**Qualifications:**
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include: Experience analyzing and developing risk-based data driven solutions. Experience managing hazardous materials programs, projects and personnel. Experience developing and executing national policies related to the safe transportation of hazardous materials. Experience supervising a hazardous materials investigation and enforcement field operation program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Technical Competence - Use knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; work with, understand, and evaluate technical information related to the job; advise others on technical issues.
