IT Specialist (APPSW)

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT). As a IT Specialist (APPSW), GS-2210-14, you will serve as a technical authority and program expert for the design, development, engineering and modernization of agency applications that incorporate web-based and mainframe technologies and standards.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Applying advanced enterprise IT architecture expertise to design and implement complex, large-scale systems solutions that support organizational program and policy objectives; Developing and engineering sophisticated applications using modern technologies (e.g., Java/J2EE, cloud-native architectures), incorporating web based and mainframe systems to ensure seamless enterprise-wide integration; Providing technical guidance and recommendations to senior management on IT architecture, system design, and implementation strategies to align technical solutions with business and program goals; AND Analyzing emerging and existing technical challenges to identify and recommend solutions with significant program and policy implications.
