Job Description
The Deputy Director provides leadership in planning, directing, and implementing national programs which focus on addressing the rights and obligations of employers and employees as they pertain to employer-sponsored pension and health care benefits; informing consumers about various health and pension issues; and promoting participation by the public in personal savings for retirement. This position is outside the bargaining unit.
**Qualifications:**
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for the Deputy Director position, as described below. For GS-15: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience using expert analysis of laws such as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and healthcare laws to identify, engage, and educate participants, fiduciaries, and service providers. Experience drafting and preparing educational content for dissemination (website, social media, presentations). Experience providing technical support and training to advance the participant and compliance assistance programs. Experience developing short and long range national and regional program goals.
