Associate Program Specialist

<p><b>About the Role</b><br><br>The GSS Quality Assurance team drives the Quality Assurance strategy for various Uber product areas. We conceptualize &amp; launch new strategic initiatives,<br><br>build &amp; scale new testing capabilities, and own the overall test suite management for different product lines at Uber. We are strategic partners for engineering,<br><br>product management, product operations, and technical program management teams, running programs that contribute to frictionless experiences for Uber<br><br>users. We seek a QA specialist who has strong quality assurance skills and would want to become a subject matter expert in testing methods for various product categories. You will delve into the specifics to comprehend product and stakeholder requirements while collaborating across global and market teams to establish scalable, effective testing procedures. Additionally, you will support the testing team in Hyderabad, facilitating their success by eliminating significant obstacles and guiding essential tasks to guarantee a smooth UAT process.<br><br>1. Requirement Analysis &amp; Test Plan: The candidate must analyze the Product Requirement Document (PRD), the Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD), and<br><br>other pertinent documents to develop a robust test plan that addresses all edge cases and recognizes potential functionalities gaps.<br><br>2. Business Flow Analysis: Creates comprehensive test cases aligned with product functionality through business flow analysis.<br><br>3. End-to-End Testing: The individual should have a solid overview of the QA lifecycle and ensure seamless product validation by implementing and<br><br>adhering to testing policies and should also be able to define strategies for pre and post-launch depending on the type of product.<br><br>4. Stakeholder Management/Collaboration: Translates business needs into critical test scenarios by engaging with stakeholders across different teams (Product, Engineering, Operations), enhancing product quality, and providing updates on blockers and challenges to ensure the timely launch of essential products.<br><br>5. Root Cause Analysis: Investigates recurring issues, collaborates with the team to prevent defects at the source, and contributes to process improvements to ensure we identify defects in the QA phase.<br><br><b>What the Candidate Will Do</b><br><br>1. Review &amp; Understand Requirements: Analyze business requirements, Product Requirement Documents (PRD), and flow charts to<br><br>create relevant test scenarios. Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve product testing quality.<br><br>2. Create &amp; Execute Test Cases: Design effective test plans and test cases based on business workflows and try to discover edge cases<br><br>for the product so that no defects are leaked.<br><br>3. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly interact with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to discuss testing progress and<br><br>critical issues.<br><br>4. Test Automation &amp; Data Validation: Use JavaScript, JSON, and SQL to validate code logic and extract test data.<br><br>5. Identification &amp; Reporting: Identify, document, and track bugs and defects. Work closely with developers to troubleshoot and ensure<br><br>timely fixes. Document steps to reproduce issues, expected vs. actual results, and severity levels to assist developers in debugging<br><br>6. Scrum Meetings: Before the meeting, the tester comes prepared with all the necessary information to contribute effectively and avoid<br><br>back-and-forth communication.<br><br><b>What the Candidate Will Need</b><br><br>1. Educational Qualification: Must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a<br><br>related field.<br><br>2. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) or software testing.<br><br>3. Knowledge of Testing Processes: Familiarity with test case creation, execution, Bug reporting, and analysis of bugs in pre and post-test<br><br>phases<br><br>4. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze business requirements and identify test scenarios to generate robust test plan<br><br>5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and business<br><br>users.<br><br>6.
