Job Description
<p>At SOUS, we help independent food & beverage entrepreneurs grow. We’re building what we believe will be the last employee a restaurant owner ever has to hire that touches a screen. Our AI agent handles what matters most: being found, powering commerce, and bringing guests back.</p>
<p>After strong traction in our home market, we’ve already <strong>secured our first customers in Germany</strong> and are now entering the next phase: <strong>scaling across the country</strong>. We’re hiring a <strong>Market Expansion Lead – Germany</strong> to help scale SOUS from early traction to a repeatable, country-wide growth engine.</p>
<p>This is not a country manager role and not a pure sales role. You’ll operate like a <strong>startup within a startup</strong>; building on existing momentum, owning execution on the ground, and working closely with the founders and central team.</p>
<p>You won’t be starting from scratch, but you <em>will</em> be responsible for turning early success into scale.</p>
<h2>Tasks</h2>
<p><strong>Revenue & Market Traction (Primary)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own new merchant acquisition in Germany <em>(restaurants, chefs, and F&B brands)</em></li>
<li>Build on existing traction to scale merchant adoption nationally</li>
<li>Run full-cycle sales: outreach → close → onboarding</li>
<li>Build and close early pipeline, generating ARR</li>
<li>Identify the fastest-converting ICPs and GTM motions</li>
<li>Create local proof points and case studies to accelerate growth</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Market Launch & Local Execution</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Help make SOUS fully “Germany-ready” at scale</li>
<li>Act as local point of contact for early partners and strategic merchants</li>
<li>Represent SOUS at relevant local events and hospitality communities</li>
<li>Operate like a startup within a startup — moving fast, testing assumptions, and executing hands-on</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Ops, Playbooks & Feedback Loop</strong> <em>(Light but Critical)</em></p>
<ul>
<li>Spot friction in onboarding, payments, and merchant experience</li>
<li>Create and refine the <strong>German go-to-market playbook</strong> for sales + partnerships.</li>
<li>Act as the <strong>voice of the German market internally</strong>, ensuring local needs are reflected in product, pricing, and processes</li>
<li>Help define when Germany is ready for scale and additional structure</li>
</ul>
<h2>Requirements</h2>
<ul>
<li>3–6 years experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles</li>
<li>Experience in a startup or fast-growing scale-up</li>
<li>Local network in restaurants industry is a plus</li>
<li>Fluent in <strong>German</strong> and strong in <strong>English</strong></li>
<li><strong>Comfortable selling before everything is perfect</strong></li>
<li>Open for travelling within DE, and occasionally to Amsterdam.</li>
<li>Curious about ops, legal, and “how things actually work”</li>
<li>High energy, low ego, strong ownership mindset</li>
<li>Willing to roll up your sleeves and do what’s needed to make the market work</li>
