This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position:This position is located at Fort Hood, TX This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:managing a comprehensive fire protection program to include wildland firefighting, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARRF), technical rescue (Swiftwater, Confined Space, Tunnel Rescue) and emergency services for a large multi-modal power projection platform military installation, municipality, or a large organization; leading firefighting and emergency services personnel/ developing polices and procedure overseeing training certification program; managing emergency preparedness and response compliance and providing technical guidance to subordinates and /or leadership on fire protection and life safety requirements. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess Certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M AND a State or National Registry EMT Certification Card indicating a future expiration date when applicable.
