Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Single Sailor and Fleet Recreation Program Manager. The incumbent is responsible for the development, organization, facilitation, marketing and evaluation of recurring and nonrecurring programs and is responsible for serving the diverse needs of patrons.
**Qualifications:**
Factor 1. Knowledge Required A Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or closely related field is desired. A minimum of three years of specialized expereince recreation programming may be substituted for a formal degree. Knowledge of the principles of recreation and Navy policy and procedures directing proper administration of Fleet recreation operations. Ability to accomplish work through others. Skill to define work assignments, set deadlines, establish work schedules, develop employee evaluations, implement EEO policy, and goal setting. Ability to define requirements. Ability to present briefs and training lectures. Possesses strong communication skills and ability to communicate with targeted 18-24 year old age group of single military personnel, advisory groups, MWR and community program personnel and Iocal community program representatives and vendors. Knowledge of NAF and APF funding sources and procedures for securing funds through Echelon I, II, and III Commands. Ability to view financial statements to determine budget status of the program. Knowledge of marketing and promotion techniques that will motivate and encourage program participation. Requires certification in CPR and First Aid. Requires a driver's license and ability to drive a 15 passenger van. Must be able to operate a computer and have an in-depth knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
