Job Description
The Financial Specialist position is in the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Department of Administrative Service, Financial Management Office (FMO), Financial Operations Division, Financial Accounting Branch, Reporting and Reconciliation Section. The FMO is responsible for financial management for the federal judiciary, including accounting, reporting, and investments.
**Qualifications:**
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) (preferably 3 years) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience must demonstrate experience in ALL areas defined below: Providing guidance on financial operations, reporting, and systems. Performing account reconciliation of financial management data against various systems and sources to identify discrepancies, delinquencies, and abnormalities to take corrective action as appropriate. Researching policy or procedural issues related to accounting operations or financial systems configuration updates required by statutory or policy changes.
