Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting in creating necessary engineering drawings, standards and plan specifications; 2) Aiding in developing a detailed scope of work which specifically addresses the work requested; and 3) Supports program/project manager in reviewing contractors work to ensure conformance with plans and specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Specialized Experience for GS-10: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing construction design plans for projects based on standards and regulations such as maintenance or construction; 2) Using computer aided drafting and design programs and estimating software packages to assist in preparing plans and specifications for contract scopes; AND 3) Coordinate and monitor construction operations after the award for various activities i.e., Contract Officer's Representative, customer, etc, to avoid undue interruption of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Building and Construction Contracting/Procurement Project Management Time in Grade Requirement for GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-10: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
