Job Description

You will serve as a AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT, PRODUCTION LINES DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE JOB WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISON 1) Disassembling, repairing, modifying, assembling, testing, installing, and maintaining of aircraft electrical systems, equipment, and accessories such as automatic flight control, fire detection, instrumentation, power distribution, fuel indicating systems and utilities used in and on fixed and rotary wing aircraft; 2) Removing, repairing, or replacing of defective circuits, wires, connectors, control units, and other parts of aircraft electrical systems; 3) Using common hand and power tools such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, soldering irons, and heats guns; 4) Working from blueprints, technical manuals and wiring diagrams; 5) Performing final functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems; and 6) Assisting equivalent and lower grade workers in a full range of duties.
