Job Description
This position is in the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO), under the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA) where the incumbent serves as an IT Project Manager. This position will be physically located in a VA owned or leased office/space and require up to 75% official travel.
**Qualifications:**
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/13/2026. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Experience Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Demonstrates proficiency in initiating and managing IT projects, conducting technical studies, and managing the preparation of project documentation, including evaluating, analyzing, and developing functional specifications impacting current systems architecture and future operations. Demonstrates experience adapting new concepts, policies, processes, and best practices related to EHR project management. Experience providing guidance on IT and organizational management concepts, monitoring performance metrics, and managing risk and compliance. Experience in project integration, reporting, and providing strategic IT assessments to leadership. Experience demonstrating thorough understanding of federal laws, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance and effective management of IT operations and project initiatives.
